Fluid mechanics is an integral part of a special course in hydraulics for undergraduates and doctoral students (Ph.D.) studying in the specialties “Water resources and water use”, “Hydraulic engineering and structures”.
It provides accessible and simple general equations of hydrodynamics and equations of swirling motions of fluid flows, first in general curved orthogonal coordinate systems, then as special cases in Cartesian, cylindrical and spherical coordinate systems.
