The textbook introduces readers to one of the most influential areas of modern historical research. The evolution of anthropologically oriented history is traced from its early forms (the history of mentalities) to later versions (microhistory, the history of everyday life, new cultural history). Both the general features of the works of the historical and anthropological direction and the specifics of individual national schools (France, Italy, Germany, USA, Great Britain) are noted. Special attention is paid to the possibilities of interdisciplinary dialogue between historians and anthropologists. The final part of the book discusses the first experiences and prospects of historical anthropology in Russia.
The textbook can be recommended to students and postgraduates of historical specialties, as well as those who study other social and humanitarian sciences (anthropologists, sociologists, cultural scientists).
