The main task of the higher school is to train specialists for all industries capable of solving complex engineering and research tasks. An educated researcher should be able to find the methods used in the general education system and his scientific position. The textbook is intended to establish dependence and define concepts such as scientific knowledge, the process of recognizing knowledge (cognition, experience, thinking, verification, generalization and more practical: scientific idea, hypothesis, principle, law, theory). Theoretical research methods are described, which are a necessary basis for a modern researcher. The monograph examines: experiment as a subject of research, uncertainty and error of the experiment, reduction of values of variables, dimensional analysis, experiment planning, analysis of experimental results. Practical examples are given.
The textbook can be useful when conducting scientific research with students, undergraduates, doctoral students and researchers, teachers and researchers.
