About the library

Mission of the Library

The library sees its mission in improving the quality of services provided, supporting the educational process by training competitive specialists through the use of modern information technologies.
To  provide readers with the necessary literature and information, the development of internal capabilities in the training of qualified personnel in accordance with the profile of the university.
The library’s task is to comply with quality standards according to international forms, to develop a collection that aligns with the university’s profile, and to provide effective service.

Library Chronicle

  • 1966. The library of the Aktobe Pedagogical Institute has been created.
  • 1967. A training subscription and a training hall are open.1968. The department of literature acquisition was opened.
  • 1991. The reading room in the main building is open.
  • 1997. The standard library of the university was put into operation.
  • 1999. In the library, according to the automated program “Irbis”, work was introduced to create an electronic catalog.
  • 2000. By Order No. 249 of 2000 of the Ministry of Education and Science, the library became a scientific methodological center for libraries of universities and colleges.
  • 2002. Republican seminar “New technologies and information support of the process of acquisition of funds of universities”.
  • 2004. Reorganization of the university and distribution of the book fund.
  • 2005. Re-registration of the library’s book collection.
  • 2006. Republican conference “Aktobe – library capital-2006”.Section “Reading and educational library in the Knowledge Society”.
  • 2009. Membership in the Association of Universities.
  • 2010. Participation in the creation of the national interuniversity electronic library.
  • 2012. Creation of a personal electronic library of the university.
  • 2012. An agreement was signed with the JSC of the Scientific Library “National Center for cientific and Technical Information”, with the help of research of mass media such as Springerlink, it means using all of interactive bases of the library, Web of Science, Polpred.com it became possible to use interactive resources.
  • 2013. Signing an agreement with the National Electronic Library of Kazakhstan.
  • 2013.  As a result of the reorganization of the university, the book fund has been increased. Because university of K.Zhubanov and institute of K.Zhubanov  have  joined in 2013.
  • 2014. The Library became a member of the Association of University Libraries of Kazakhstan.
  • 2016. The State Administration “Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan” signed a memorandum of cooperation with K.Zhubanov ARSU, to exchange experiences and improve skills.
  • 2017. They acquired the Epigraph database in the University library fund and took part in the introduction of a multimedia electronic textbook from Evero LLP.
  • 2018. Opening of the smart library hall in the university students’ house.
  • 2018.  The electronic hall named after the First President was opened.
  • 2019. A high-speed Optima A2 scanner was purchased.
  • 2019. An electronic library has been introduced into the Smart Arsu mobile application.
  • 2020. Using the Smart Arsu mobile application, it is possible to view the list of debtors, fill out a workaround (bypass) sheet.
  • 2020. A reading room with free access to the book fund was opened in the library of the academic building of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Technology.
  • 2023. ARU named after. Zhubanova joined the project to transform the university library into a model library, the experience of which can subsequently be applied in all libraries of universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
  • In December 2023, the integration of RFID technologies into the library system and the registration of mobile library cards began.
  • On December 7, 2023, the opening of the Scientific and Information Hub named after Amangeldy Aitala took place.
  • From February 1, 2024, as a result of the ongoing transformation, the library attained scientific status and underwent significant structural changes. A department for library service and development, as well as a research support office, were established.
