From November 6 to 30, 2025, the Office for Researcher Support of Aktobe Regional University named after K. Zhubanov conducted an informative and practice-oriented seminar on the topic “Electronic Databases for Researchers: Access to Scientific Information.”
During the seminar, participants were provided with a comprehensive explanation of effective methods for working with international scientific databases. In particular, the capabilities of leading information platforms such as Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, and Wiley Online Library were presented. Participants gained practical skills in searching for scientific articles, filtering results, analyzing data, determining citation metrics, and working with author profiles.
In addition, the seminar covered the use of modern research tools, ways to improve the quality of scientific publications, adherence to the principles of academic integrity, and working with anti-plagiarism systems. Participants were given practical recommendations on developing effective search strategies, selecting appropriate keywords, and analyzing scientific information.
Such events contribute to enhancing the information literacy of young researchers and increase their interest in research activities. They also play a significant role in integrating students and faculty into the international scientific community, achieving high-quality research outcomes, and increasing publication activity.
